The short version
Cross Legal Press sells PDF guides. To do that we need your email address and a way to take payment, and we count page views so we know which guides people are looking for. That is the whole list. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we never see your card number.
What we collect
Email address. You give it at checkout so your receipt and download link have somewhere to go. We also receive it when you write to support.
Payment information. Checkout is processed by Stripe, Inc. Your card number, expiry, and security code are entered into Stripe's own secure payment form and go directly to Stripe. Cross Legal Press never receives, sees, or stores card details. Stripe tells us the outcome of the payment, the amount, the currency, and an identifier for the transaction, which we keep so we can honour refunds and resend a download link.
Purchase records. Which guide you bought, when, how much you paid, and whether the payment succeeded, failed, or was refunded.
Page-view analytics. We record which page was viewed, when, an anonymous random identifier stored in your browser so repeat visits are not double-counted, and the referring page if your browser sends one. It contains no name, no email, and no advertising profile, and it is never linked to a purchase.
Support email. If you write to us, we keep the correspondence so we can answer you and check your purchase.
What we do not collect
There are no accounts and no passwords on this site, so there is nothing for us to hold. We do not run advertising pixels or third-party ad networks, we do not build marketing profiles, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you bought a guide.
How we use it
To deliver what you bought, send your receipt and download link, answer support requests, process refunds where they are due, keep the accounting and tax records a business is required to keep, prevent fraudulent payments, and see which guides and articles people actually read so we know what to write next.
We do not use your information for anything else, and we do not sell, rent, or trade it to anyone.
Who else handles your data
We use a small number of service providers, each doing one job on our behalf:
- Stripe — payment processing. Stripe is the controller of your payment data and handles it under its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
- Our hosting and database provider — runs this website and stores purchase and page-view records.
- Our email provider — delivers your receipt and download link.
Cookies and similar storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The site stores one random identifier in your browser's local storage so that repeat page views from the same browser are counted once. Clearing your browser storage removes it. Stripe may set its own cookies inside the checkout form to detect fraud; that is governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Purchase and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, generally seven years. Support correspondence is kept while it is useful for answering you. Page-view records are kept in aggregate and are not tied to an identifiable person.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Purchase records are stored in a database that only our server can read. Guide PDFs live in private storage that is not publicly reachable; after a successful payment we issue a private download link that expires in 24 hours.
Your choices and rights
Email support@crosslegalpress.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — except for records we are legally required to keep, such as the record of a completed sale. Depending on where you live you may also have rights under the GDPR or the CCPA; the same email address is how you exercise them. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing for you to opt out of.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. Questions, requests, or complaints go to support@crosslegalpress.com and a human answers them.
